The Challenge

Condé Nast International’s Custom Solutions advertising teams, spread across 25 territory companies worldwide, had no easy way to share sold campaign case studies with each other for inspiration. CNI wanted a lightweight internal portfolio tool inside their WordPress intranet where any territory’s team could upload a case study monthly, but it had to be genuinely frictionless (no login required) and fast to use, since busy advertising staff wouldn’t tolerate anything that felt like admin.

The Outcome

Delivered the Phase 1 prototype as scoped. No evidence survives that Phase 2, the full WordPress build, went ahead. A modest engagement by scope, but a genuine, formally contracted piece of internal-tool UX work for a globally recognisable media company.

The Approach

Scoped and designed a Phase 1 prototype: a Bootstrap HTML-only version of the tool, populated with real CNI content, built specifically to be user-tested with internal teams before committing to a full WordPress build. Designed a detailed, no-login content-submission form covering territory, client, sector, brand, campaign brief and solution summary, KPIs, live date, platforms and budget, with budget deliberately specified as a range rather than a precise figure, to lower the barrier to entry for busy contributors. The engagement was formally contracted, including a signed confidentiality agreement given the commercial sensitivity of internal campaign data across CNI’s global client roster.
